Run : SF Sweeps Cross-Country Districts



The Southern Fulton girls and boys cross-country teams made a big showing last Wednesday afternoon in Bedford, sweeping the District 5-A championships. In addition to clinching the championship title once again, both teams qualified for PIAA championships, which will get under way at a later date.

Indian Jacob Pryor finished 15 seconds ahead of a Tussey Mountain competitor to clinch first place during the district meet. Pryor posted a time of 17:48, while teammate Chase Varner’s overall time of 18:31 earned him a third-place finish. Benji Voight was fourth overall, while Jacob Dudich rounded out the meet in 11th place. Other finishers for the boys team were Zach Clark, 13th place; Jonah Golden, 14th; and Nathan Leedy, 17th.

The Lady Indians were paced by Emily Bradshaw in fifth place with her time of 22:44. Bradshaw was followed by Madison Baker in 11th place with her finishing time of 24:25. Linsey Pryor was 14th overall, and other top finishers included Emma Williams, 16th; Olivia Mottern, 20th; Lindsay Palmer, 21st; and Celina Merchant, 24th.
