Three area residents will compete in the Harley- Davidson Snow Hill Climb held at the X Games in Aspen on January 25-28. Dan Lauters, Louie Lauters and Josh Mueller are three of the eight riders who will participate in the event.
“There’s a story behind every mile you ride on your Harley-Davidson, and I’m honored to be one of the first to ride mine up the Snow Hill Climb during X Games 2018,” said Mueller, who will be racing a modified Harley- Davidson Sportster motorcycle. “History will be made in Aspen, and every athlete will look on with envy as we race up the SuperPipe.” This will be the first time that the Harley-Davidson Snow Hill Climb will be held at X Games Aspen as a medaled event alongside ski, snowboard, snowmobile and moto competitions.
The events will be aired on ESPN and ABC. The gold-and-bronzemedal rounds of Harley- Davidson Snow Hill Climb will air January 28 at 9:45 p.m. live on ESPN. Preliminary rounds and qualifying will stream live at 9:15 p.m. exclusively on facebook.com/harleydavidson. In Harley-Davidson Snow Hill Climb, riders will race modified twin-cylinder motorcycles up the flat bottom of the SuperPipe course.
In each head-tohead race, riders will line up side-by-side at the start line at the base of the SuperPipe. The racer will race the length of the SuperPipe with the first rider clearing the finish line at the top taking the win. Each race bike will consist of a motorcycle frame with extended swing-arm and high-torque twin-cylinder motor.
