Brian Rogers, project engineer for Gremmer & Associates, Inc., provides a weekly update on the progress of the construction of West Pleasant Street and South Main Street in Iron Ridge.

August 14 – August 18 MJ continued storm sewer along Main Street and began installing water services along Main Street, switching businesses and residents from the old main to the new main. Highway Landscapers continued on the retaining walls between the railroad tracks and Park Street.

August 21 – August 25 MJ will complete storm sewer along Main Street. They will continue installing water services and sanitary laterals along Main Street, switching businesses and residents from the old main to the new main. Highway Landscapers will be finishing the retaining walls between the railroad tracks and Park Street.

The company may also begin seeding and mulching the finished topsoil late in the week if there is enough ready for them. Michels will begin the final restoration work, placing topsoil and fine grading from STH 67 to Main Street. They will also begin digging up the old road and placing new gravel along Main Street.

Access Remember that Pleasant Street remains a work zone, so drive slowly. Access to businesses along South Main Street should now be encouraged to come from Pleasant Street/STH 67.
